Thanksgiving

We had a eventful Thanksgiving this year. I will say Brad was at the store on Thanksgiving day buying another turkey.  I'll just leave it at that.  Besides that it was fun.  We had to get the boys out of the house to burn that energy off so we took them to the park. Let me just say, I hope you enjoy the pic of them on the slide together because that was a challenge.  One would always go down before the other. Nolan also had his 2 yr old party which Bradford felt the need to get it started and play host. Very sweet moments. All in all it was a good time together.

Epilepsy

Praise God!!!  Let me start by saying its been a little crazy the past couple of months.  I wanted to give a little history and update from Bradford's appt. with the neurologist.  Brad and I noticed him having what I thought was an absence seizure one afternoon.  We monitored him very closely after that and saw that he was having several a day.  I took him to the pediatrician and then got referred to the neurologist.  Of course our first appt. got cancelled. So a month later we got in. In the mean time he was having anywhere from 5-12 a day.  I know your probably thinking, my gosh but that didn't scare me as much as the behavioral changes we saw.  He had some severe anxiety and fear and it kills you as a mother when you can't take that away for them.  Let me just say that I am so thankful that it is just absence seizures( because I know it could be a lot worse). So Tuesday he had his eeg and the neurologist was able to see a few seizures. I gotta say my lil' man went through the whole test with a smile on his face. The Dr. did diagnose him as having childhood absence epilepsy.  We started him on his new medicine and so far so good.  He has gone 24 hrs now with no seizures and no crazy side effects from his meds! Thank you to everyone who has kept us in their thoughts and prayers. We really appreciate it.

Pumpkin Carving

I really liked how our pumpkin turned out this year.  We started off making some apple cider in apple cups (  my first pinterest to try). You see Bradford decided to drink his through the cinnamon stick. After his 3rd cup we started carving our spider out on the pumpkin .  I recommend cutting it from the bottom. Now for Bradford's favorite part- the drill!!! He and Daddy drilled holes in it and then stuffed it with lights.  We actually put lights in each hole. Did I tell you Im OCD:)  It turned out great though.  The last pic doesn't look great with the lights hanging down but I wanted to take a quick pic before fixing it up.  I ended up putting leaves and more pumpkins around it but bummed I didn't get a pic of it.We will definately do this again next year.

Dah dah dah da!!!!! Here's your real Captain America.  We took Bradford to the park to get some pics in his halloween outfit last weekend.  Brad took a lot of good photos but was real eager to photoshop this one first. Can't wait to see the 12x18 poster size he ordered to put in his room!!

We went to Gentry Farms this week with our neighbor Mrs. Katie and her son Wesley. Bradford loves his buddy Wesley!  I have to explain some the pictures I posted here.
Cow Picture: While on the hayride Bradford asked me "mommy, why do those cows have price tags on their ears? Can we buy one?" (Love it).
Picture with the sticks: "Look mommy, Im a mouse."
These comments were too cute not to document!

Sorry, I am just now getting around to posting b-day pics. Its been a little crazy around our house to say the least.  So Bradford wanted the same theme (super hero) as last year but then decided on a Captain America theme.  The boy loves his super heros.  This year we made super hero shields  and had a pinata at Granny White Park.  His Opa made him a captain america cake. We put both grandmas to work helping with the shields.  Daddy started his birthday morning off with a little surprise, a weekend in uncle Michael's rubicon.  He was in heaven!! On his actual birthday we always have the downstairs decorated.  I hang all the cards he received from his party. He loves that more than anything.  Then he gets his breakfast with birthday candles (this year he chose a scone) and we sing happy birthday.   That night he gets to choose where to eat.  Are you ready for this one, Boscos. Yes my son chooses a micro brewery for dinner.  What can I say, he loves the pizza there.  At bedtime I read his birthday letter to him.  This includes a few questions I ask him that year like what he wants to be, favorite friend, color, etc.  Then I add a section for what he has accomplished that year and just a personal note with favorite memories.  Yes, I cry my eyes writing it (shocker, I know). It was a great birthday!!!

I am so blessed to be a teacher at Judson Baptist! My husband and I are overwhelmed by the support we've received from my school.  It's such a great feeling to see everyone in the hall wearing our shirts!  My supportive boss, Diane, has loaded up my car so many times in the past two weeks and I can't thank her enough.  Everyone that I work with have very rigorous schedules and balance a full load from work and as mothers at home but they always take the time to ask about our journey and how they can help.  Not only have they been supportive by purchasing our shirts and donating items for our sales, they most importantly they have bound together in faithful prayer.  We know that the road home for our child is not always going to be paved and bump free, however; we also know that our only defense against those unknowns is prayer warriors like the staff at Judson Baptist.

So, we finally finished our last home study visit this week and it went really well.  It wasn't as long as I anticipated.  Our next step is working on the I600A form.  I've looked over the forms for the dossier and thank the Lord we have already completed most of it when completing the home study.  After our I600A is sent in we should expect a couple of months before we get the form back from the government.  And yes, our dossier will be already to GO when it does come back.  Waiting is so hard but the reward is so worth it!
P.S.

Don't forget about our yard sale fundraiser!  We are in need of item donations... we will pick them up.  Call Erin at 615-513-0047 to schedule the pickup.

Today was Bradford's first day of 4 yr. old pre-k and yes I get teary-eyed seeing him on the first day.  Look how much my lil' guy has grown.  He loves his new teacher, Ms. Amy.  She rocks!!  He was so proud that he traced his name with Ms. Amy (he did a good job too).  He passed out on the way home from school and I transfered him to my room.  Yay! Ms. Amy ( I think I feel a starbucks gift card floating her way).  As for mommy, it was my first day with my new class and I loved meeting and playing with my new friends.  My kiddos helped me teach my puppet friends, Blue and Chatty Kathy, my rules and the correct way to play.  I bet you can guess which puppet misbehaved.  They loved it every time Chatty Kathy would interrupt.  I can only imagine how crazy I looked to someone looking in.  Hey! Its for the kids, right?
